Sculptra is different from a traditional filler. Rather than adding volume on the day, it stimulates your own collagen so volume builds gradually over months and lasts far longer. It is $700 per syringe at Melange Spa, and like every injectable here it is placed by a licensed APRN or RN.

How Sculptra works

Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that has been used in medicine for decades. Injected into the deeper layers of the skin, it acts as a scaffold that prompts your body to produce new collagen. The PLLA itself is gradually absorbed; the collagen it stimulated stays. The result is a natural restoration of the fullness that faces lose with age, rather than an instant, placed volume.

Sculptra vs. hyaluronic acid fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers like Versa and Evolysse ($450 per syringe) give immediate results and are ideal for defined areas such as lips, cheeks, and deeper folds. Sculptra is for broader, more diffuse volume loss: hollow temples, sunken cheeks, and overall facial deflation. Results appear over several weeks to months and typically last up to about two years, longer than most hyaluronic acid fillers. Many patients use both: filler for definition now, Sculptra for a foundation that lasts.

Treatment plan and pricing

Sculptra is $700 per syringe. Because it works by building collagen, it is usually planned as a short series, often two to three sessions spaced about four to six weeks apart, with the number of syringes depending on how much volume has been lost. Your provider lays out the full plan and total cost at your consultation so there are no surprises.

What to expect

Each session takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Numbing cream keeps you comfortable, and you may have mild swelling or tenderness for a day or two. After treatment you will be asked to massage the treated areas for several days (the "rule of fives": five minutes, five times a day, for five days) to distribute the product evenly. All injections at Melange Spa are performed by licensed medical professionals: Kaycee Eyers, APRN or aesthetic injector Kim Dunakey, RN, BSN, RNFA, NC-BC, never a technician.

Who is a good candidate?

Sculptra suits adults with age-related volume loss who want gradual, natural-looking restoration rather than an immediate change. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with active skin infection in the treatment area, and we review your history at your visit.
